HEALTHY POLICY? A group of local health care advocates meet with state legislators in Sacramento today to press their case to keep up medical funding. They worry the state might help out local budget problems by gutting laws that require counties to provide a “safety net” of health care for the poor. . . . “This is bad public policy,” warns Mary Ann Gaido of St. Joseph’s Health System. “It could be traumatic.”
