4 Convicted in Florida Home Sales Fraud

Four former General Development Corp. executives were convicted Wednesday of conspiring to bilk 10,000 Florida home buyers through deceptive sales practices.
A federal jury handed up convictions of David Brown, former chairman; Robert Ehrling, former president; Richard Reizen, former senior vice president, and Tore DeBella, former senior vice president.
Brown and Reizen were each convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit fraud. They face a maximum prison sentence of five years apiece.
Ehrling and DeBella were convicted of one count of fraud conspiracy and 39 counts of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and/or interstate transportation in furtherance of mail fraud. They face maximum sentences of five years on each of the 40 charges.
