Glendale : Ride-Sharing Up 6.2%

Share

Ride-sharing by the employees of companies that belong to the Glendale Transportation Management Assn. increased 6.2% in the past year, the organization reported.

Currently, slightly more than 25% of the approximately 16,000 employees of the association’s 35 member companies either car-pool, van-pool, take the bus, walk or bicycle to work, said Jeanne Olwin, the association’s executive director.

The nonprofit association was founded in 1989 to help local businesses with their ride-sharing programs. It matches employees with car pools and van pools through a regional ride-sharing database, and provides bus passes for sale to employees at their work sites.
