8 Hezbollah Candidates to Run in Lebanon Elections

BEIRUT —
The pro-Iranian Hezbollah said Wednesday that it will field eight candidates in upcoming parliamentary elections and pledged that they will reject efforts for peace with Israel.
Citing concerns for their safety, Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah would not release the names of the candidates, who will run for seats in the eastern Bekaa Valley, the central mountains and Beirut in multiphase elections to begin Aug. 23.
