Wahlco Environmental Systems Inc.: The Irvine manufacturer of pollution control and power-efficiency equipment posted a net loss of $3.6 million, or 20 cents a share, for the second quarter, contrasted with net income of $2.6 million, or 15 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue rose 13% to $20.7 million this year from $18.3 million last year. In the first half of this year, the company lost $4.7 million, or 27 cents a share, compared to net income of $3.5 million, or 20 cents a share, last year. Revenue for the period grew 24% to $42.2 million from $34.1 million last year. The company said European and other operations acquired after June 30, 1991, contributed $6.7 million and $15.1 million in revenue during this year’s second quarter and first six months, respectively. At the same time, these operations added $1.8 million and $3.4 million in expenses for the respective periods.
