Olympics, Week Two: Doesn’t Anyone Have Spirit of the Games?

I don’t get it. We can send to the Olympics a pack of pro basketball players that makes Mt. Rushmore look insignificant, but our baseball team comprises amateurs who got their butts kicked by some of the last Communists on the planet. Since when was basketball considered America’s national pastime? If we’ve got to be blisteringly No. 1 in something, shouldn’t it be baseball?

Why don’t we send baseball pros to the Olympics? And if we couldn’t send pros, how about the Dodgers? They’d qualify for amateur standing and maybe they could finally win a few games.
