Twenty freshman football players are expected to report to USC tonight for a three-day mini-camp before veterans report Thursday night. Full practices are scheduled to start Saturday, with USC set to play San Diego State in its opener Sept. 5 at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego.
Two players signed by USC last winter, defensive backs Andrew Carter of Stockton and Denard Walker of Garland, Tex., were not admitted to school.
