VAN NUYS : Ideas Sought on Affordable Housing

Share

Los Angeles housing officials are scheduled to meet with San Fernando Valley residents Wednesday to gather comments on how to update the city’s long-term strategy for creating more affordable housing.

At an evening workshop in Van Nuys, officials will discuss the city’s Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy, a wide-ranging plan approved by the Los Angeles City Council in November to provide direction to city housing policy.

Maya Dunne of the city’s Housing Preservation and Production Department said her agency is charged with updating the priorities and proposals outlined in the plan. For the past year, the emphasis has been on reducing delays for development projects, establishing a loan program for first-time home buyers and building homes for senior citizens and the disabled.

Wednesday’s workshop, one of four throughout the city, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Physics Building at Valley College.
