Nyeland Acres : 3-Acre Community Park Is Dedicated

The three-acre park was built in the low-income area with the cooperation of the Rio Elementary School District, which donated the land. The county chipped in $75,000 for park improvements, and the community raised another $25,000,
Ventura County Supervisor John K. Flynn presided over the dedication, which featured live music and refreshments. “There was a great need for a community park and other kinds of recreational activities in that area,” Flynn said.
