Public School Spending

Share

Your article on school spending reminds me of the difference between riding a bicycle today versus 30 years ago. We used to take a $50 one-speed bike out of the garage, put on a baseball cap, and pedal around the neighborhood.

Now, to get the same exercise, we buy a $1,000 15-speed racing bike, a $150 designer shorts and top outfit, a $50 helmet, one $75 rack for the top of a $20,000 vehicle, and motor to the beach. We ride on tax-provided paths, and more than likely fall on our heads when crowded off the path. I guess that proves change is not all bad. The helmets are probably a good idea.
