Ford Recalls 442,000 Cars: The auto maker said it is recalling 99,000 Lincoln Continentals to replace worn brake rotors that could lead to problems in stopping. The cars, 1988-91 models, were originally sold or are now registered in the Northeast and Great Lakes areas, where road salt used in winter could have corroded the rotors. Those states are Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin. Ford also said it is recalling 343,000 Taurus, Sable and Continental cars with 3.8-liter V-6 engines from the model years 1988-90 because the cars may exceed emissions standards.
