Niftier Name: For those who ask the age-old question, “What’s in a name?” Cimco Inc. in Costa Mesa has an answer: It’s synergy.

Executive Vice President James D. Woest said that the company recently changed its Molded Medical Components Division--an admittedly cumbersome label--to Cimco Medical.

Not only will Cimco Medical, part of the company’s Medical Molding Corp. subsidiary, be easier to remember, Woest said, but the name change will reflect the relationship to the parent corporation, which develops and manufactures high-performance plastic components for industrial and medical markets.

“The move was made to show synergy,” Woest said. “We wanted our customers to know we are part of a winning team in addition to working as an independent unit.”
