Workers’ Comp Fraud Suspect Held: California Insurance Department investigators arrested a 28-year-old man who officials describe as a leader of a workers’ compensation fraud ring. Jorge Coronado is accused in 25 felony counts of conspiring to commit insurance fraud, to file false insurance claims and to solicit clients for attorneys. Coronado owns a Bell-based business called Spanish Marketing that, officials say, employs an estimated 15 street-corner pitchmen who solicit people to file bogus workers’ compensation claims. His arrest, officials said, was the outgrowth of an investigation that produced nine arrests in April under a new state anti-fraud law.
