LONG BEACH : Girl, 15, Lied About Abduction, Officers Say

Share

A 15-year-old girl lied about being abducted and sexually assaulted, hoping to hide the fact that she spent the night with a boy at a hotel, a sheriff’s spokesman said Thursday.

When confronted about inconsistencies in her story, the girl “broke down and confessed to having met a boy on the same street she claimed she was abducted on and (admitted spending) the night with him in a Long Beach hotel,” said spokesman Ron Spear.

The Willowbrook teen-ager told detectives earlier that two men and a woman had kidnaped her at gunpoint as she walked to work. The girl, whose name was withheld, claimed to have been abducted Monday morning in the 1900 block of East El Segundo Boulevard in East Rancho Dominguez. Spear said the girl could face prosecution for filing a false police report.
