Redshirt freshman Garrick McGee will be Arizona State’s starting quarterback in the Sept. 5 season opener against Washington, Sun Devil Coach Bruce Snyder announced.
Snyder said he spent Wednesday night studying film of McGee and junior Bret Powers, who started eight games last season, before making a decision after Thursday afternoon’s practice at Camp Tontozona.
