Reagan’s Speech
At the opening of the GOP convention, Reagan spoke nostalgically of the last 12 years of Republican presidency. He ridiculed Democratic opponents past and present, real or imagined. He gave Republicans credit for all of America’s success and blamed all of America’s problems on “the other side.” However, he did have one final memory lapse. He forgot to ask the American people if they were better off today than they were four years ago. I believe that Americans will answer this question the first Tuesday in November.
