California’s lackluster economy continued to hurt Rexhall Industries Inc.’s earnings in the second quarter ended June 30. The Saugus maker of recreational vehicles reported that its quarterly profit plunged 81%, to $46,000, from a $242,000 profit a year earlier.
Rexhall’s sales totaled $3.91 million, down 57% from $9.18 million in 1991’s second quarter.
The company managed to narrow its loss in the latest six-month period, to $125,000 from a $217,000 loss a year before. Its sales, however, fell 45%, to $7.66 million from $13.8 million.
