The body of a fugitive white supremacist’s 13-year-old son was found in an outbuilding at the man’s mountaintop home, which was surrounded by police after a U.S. marshal was killed, authorities said Monday.

Authorities said Samuel Weaver likely died in the shootout Friday that killed Marshal William F. Degan.

The boy’s body was found Sunday night by FBI agents searching an outbuilding 100 yards from fugitive Randy Weaver’s home, officials said.

Weaver, 44, and his family have been at the log home 40 miles south of the Canadian border since February, 1991, when he failed to appear for trial on a weapons charge.

Kevin Harris, 24, is accused in a federal arrest warrant of killing Degan. Harris is a longtime friend of Weaver and has lived at the cabin for several years.
