‘Trek’ to the Top: “Star Trek: The Next Generation” has boldly gone where no other show has gone before. “Trek” topped TV Guide Canada’s seventh annual reader poll as the best prime-time show, beating out “Northern Exposure” and perennial favorite “Knots Landing” and marking the first time a syndicated program has landed in that spot. Conversely, “A Different World,” “Designing Women” and “Knots Landing” were cited as shows that have worn out their welcome.
