Help Wanted Ad Index Falls: The number of help wanted ads in U.S. newspapers fell slightly in July, another sign that the labor market was failing to gain momentum, a business research group said. The Conference Board’s help wanted advertising index dropped to 91 from 92 in June. In July, 1991, the index was 93.
