Holiday Gas Prices Down: The nation’s motorists traveling on the Labor Day holiday will be paying the lowest prices in four years for gasoline, according to a survey released by the American Automobile Assn. The average retail price for self-service regular unleaded gasoline of $1.157 a gallon is the lowest since the Labor Day holiday in 1988, when gasoline sold at $1.12 a gallon. Gasoline is half a cent a gallon cheaper than a year ago, AAA said.
