Unocal Negotiating Sale of Sacramento Subsidiary: Unocal Corp. said it is negotiating sales of portions of its Sacramento-based PureGro Co. subsidiary to four companies. The sale of assets including PureGro is a plan to generate another $700 million in after-tax proceeds over the next two years, Unocal said. Earlier asset sales this year generated after-tax proceeds of $300 million. PureGro Co. markets and distributes fertilizers and crop protection materials throughout the West.
