Jaguar Drops Prices, 2 Models: Jaguar Cars Inc. said that 1993 model prices will drop by an average of 3% with comparably equipped 1992 models, mainly because of less expensive engines in two models. The Ford Motor Co. subsidiary also said it is reducing to four from six the number of basic models. The new lineup includes the XJ6 sedan, which replaces the discontinued Sovereign at $49,750, and the XJ6 Vanden Plas sedan at $56,750, up from $54,500 in 1992. The XJS coupe and convertible now have an in-line six-cylinder engine in place of the previous V-12. Prices dropped with the engine size; the coupe is $49,750, down from $60,500, and the XJS convertible at $56,750, down from $67,500. Jaguar dropped the previous less-equipped XJ6 and Majestic sedans for 1993.
