OUTLOOK

Gone are most of the players who led the Tigers to the Southern Section Division VI title last season. That group, led by quarterback Marc O’Brien, running backs Ryan Roskelly and Willie Barnes, and receivers Korey and Kevin Alexander, went 25-2 (9-1 in league) and outscored opponents, 976-240, over the past two seasons. Marrujo’s not offering any predictions about this year’s team. In his preseason prospectus, he picked Western to win the league, followed by Savanna, Brea, Anaheim and Magnolia. He wouldn’t rank his own team. But Marrujo, who has coached the Tigers to league titles eight of the past nine years, has some some outstanding players returning, including two of the league’s top linebackers in Draft and Estes. The skill positions, with the exception of Draft at running back, also remain a question mark. Petko, the younger brother of former Servite High and University of Nebraska linebacker Mike Petko, will likely be the Tigers’ starting quarterback.
