OUTLOOK

Westminster upset eventual league champion Santa Ana in its league opener and then managed to win only one more game. “We suffered four key injuries in the Santa Ana game, and we never bounced back after that,” Clark said. “All four players were two-way starters, so it was like replacing eight starters.” Mahurien, who has started since the seventh game of his sophomore season, passed for 1,204 yards as a junior. “He’s as good as any quarterback in the league, but I don’t know if we can catch the ball at this point,” Clark said. Fula Fula, up from the sophomore team, is the team’s best receiver. Frazier played at Westminster as a sophomore, moved to Gardena as a junior and now returns as the team’s starting tailback. Shallah, who has added 10 pounds since spring football, is the biggest player in the league.
