Eric Davis, suffering from a recurring sore wrist and shoulder, admitted Tuesday that his season could be finished.

Davis will be examined by doctors in Los Angeles today.

“I’m really hurting,” said Davis, referring mainly to his wrist, which is restricted by bone chips. “If my wrist needs surgery, I want to get it taken care of now.”

For the first time, Davis acknowledged that he will have to change his style of play if he wants to prolong his career. “I think I have realized I’m beating up my body too much,” he said.
