Rockwell Debuts Spectrum: Rockwell International Corp. has launched a telecommunications system for corporate offices that will improve the automatic processing of telephone calls to customer service lines, company officials in Seal Beach said Thursday.
The system, known as Spectrum, is a computer-controlled telecommunications system that routes calls to available service representatives, voice-mail systems or branch offices. The product is aimed at customer-service centers that process calls to toll-free numbers. The system will be manufactured in Downers Grove, Ill.
The system is designed for offices with 25 to 400 telephone sales agents. Rockwell officials said the product differs from others in its ability to control automatically a number of different telephone services.
Gene Swystun, a telecommunications consultant and president of Call Center Management in Dallas, said Rockwell’s combination of the various call-processing technologies could make its product attractive in the $500-million automated call-distribution equipment market.
