The last full moon of the summer will shine Saturday night, part of a weekend of nearly perfect weather, forecasters said.

Clear skies and mild temperatures will complement the full moon during a Saturday night walk in Sorrento Valley. The outing, for those interested in moon lore and legends, begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature stories about Ishtar, the Babylonian moon goddess, and Chaawp, the Digueno Indian Meteor Spirit, organizers said.

The full-moon walk and talk will start in the parking lot by the La Cantina bike shop on the north side of Sorrento Valley Boulevard, a half mile east of Vista Sorrento Parkway. Participants should bring a flashlight and wear sturdy shoes.

There are plenty of other outdoor activities in San Diego this weekend. The Street Scene music festival will take place in downtown San Diego and the Padres will host the Cincinnati Reds at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium. “The weather will be real great for all these outdoor activities,” said Wilbur Shigehara, chief forecaster for the National Weather Service in San Diego.

The comfortable outdoor weather is due to a weak low-pressure system that has been vacationing over San Diego since Labor Day, Shigehara said.

Highs of 77 degrees are expected in the coastal area this weekend, Shigehara said. At night, the temperatures will register from 52 to 60 degrees.

At the beaches, temperatures will peak at 73 degrees this weekend. The water temperature will be 66 degrees, about two degrees below normal.

In inland areas, temperatures will reach 85 degrees during the day and dip to 56 degrees at night.

The mountain temperatures will climb to 80 degrees during the day and fall to about 48 degrees at night.

The temperature will reach the 100s in the deserts, but will drop at night to 72 degrees.
