WORLD IN BRIEF : CAMBODIA : Khmer Rouge Faces Sanctions, U.S. Says

Acting Secretary of State Lawrence S. Eagleburger warned that the international community will have to consider punitive sanctions if the Khmer Rouge guerrilla faction continues to obstruct a peace settlement for Cambodia. The United Nations has more than 20,000 people deployed in Cambodia to implement the peace plan designed to end 13 years of civil war and make possible free elections.
