Nebraska Starts Slowly but Wins Big
Lance Lewis and Derek Brown broke loose on runs of 42 and 44 yards the first two minutes after halftime, sparking No. 11 Nebraska to a 34-point second half and a 48-7 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday.
The Cornhuskers (2-0), who play No. 2 Washington next week, struggled against the Division I-AA Blue Raiders (1-1) through two quarters and led, 14-7, at halftime.
But Lewis’ run to open the second half gave the Cornhuskers the momentum they needed.
Brown was the game’s top rusher, carrying 14 times for 154 yards. Calvin Jones ran 16 times for 119 yards.
