‘Family’ Problems: “The Family Dog” has been missing but not forgotten. Reports are in that the CBS prime-time animated series from executive producers Steven Spielberg and Tim Burton will be completed in time to air on CBS as a midseason replacement. The one-time highly publicized series about life from a dog’s-eye view began production two years ago before running into problems. But the head of Nelvana Productions in Canada, where “Family Dog” was sent for “fixes,” met earlier this month with CBS Entertainment Vice President Peter Tortorrici, who was told that 13 episodes will be delivered to the network by October.
