Datametrics Agrees to Buy Mountain View Company

Datametrics Corp., a Chatsworth company that makes printers and other computer equipment for aerospace, military and industrial markets, said it has tentatively agreed to buy Rugged Digital Systems Inc. for 2 million shares of Datametrics’ stock.

Based on Datametrics’ closing price of $1.38 on the day of its announcement Thursday, the value of the transaction is about $2.76 million.

Datametrics said it expects the acquisition to be completed by Nov. 30.

Rugged Digital, based in Mountain View, Calif., makes heavy-duty computer workstations for military customers. Datametrics said Rugged Digital had estimated net income of $9,000 in its fiscal year that ended July 31, on sales of $13.2 million, compared to earnings of $104,000 on revenue of $16.7 million a year ago.
