Bolsa Chica Cleanup Day--A Service Day at Bolsa Chica wetlands will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will work on trail repairs, weeding, trash pickup and sign replacement, among other things.
Those interested are asked to meet on the boardwalk by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve on Pacific Coast Highway about half of mile south of Warner Avenue, across from Bolsa Chica State Beach.
Creek Trip--South Coast Audubon is hosting a field trip to San Diego Creek in Irvine on Saturday. There should be a good variety of shorebirds on view at the creek.
Those who would like to participate are asked to meet at 8 a.m. at San Carlo Park on Harvard Avenue near Main Street.
Youth Field Trip--South Coast Audubon is also the host of a “Young Audubons” field trip Wednesday for children ages 5 to 12.
The trip’s theme is “Birds of San Clemente,” and will include a nature walk at Bonito Canyon Park.
The trip begins at 6 p.m. Those wishing to participate are asked to meet at the Boys and Girls Club, 1304 Calle Valle in San Clemente.
Nature Center Program--The Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim will sponsor a parent/child workshop about reptiles and amphibians Saturday.
The program will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Activities will include live animal demonstrations and a trail hike.
