“Duck,” Stan Humphries is at quarterback. Fans, who have tickets for the lower seats in San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium, will be asked from now on to sign liability waivers to protect management.

B- RUNNING BACKS

Charger Girls and running backs have something common: They do their best to entertain each Sunday, but by season’s end no one will be here to notice.

C RECEIVERS

No truth to rumor that fans entering stadium, who received photos of Anthony Miller, promptly dropped them. How could you think of such a thing? They were pictures of Derrick Walker.

F OFFENSIVE LINE

The Chargers’ offense appeared reluctant to take the field on each possession as they remained huddled on the sideline. Insiders said the vote was 6-5 to play each time, but you wouldn’t know it by reaction of team’s five offensive linemen.

C+ DEFENSIVE LINE

No trouble finding first-round pick Chris Mims on the sideline; he’s the guy with the real clean uniform. Look on the bright side: Leslie O’Neal probably won’t start talking until Chargers win.

A LINEBACKERS

Each Monday on Channel 10 the Chargers honor the player of the game on, “Chargers Report.” It seems silly. Why not just go ahead and call it, “The Junior Seau Show.”

F DEFENSIVE BACKS

Tony Blaylock wants to be blamed for all the Chargers’ problems. OK. Donald Frank has an interception; Dan Quayle was elected vice president.

F SPECIAL TEAMS

The way things are going for this group, you could ask John Carney to take aim at the Pacific Ocean and he’d be wide left. The special teams coach gets his players attention by waving a white towel. Now isn’t that appropos.

F COACHING

Although Bobby Beathard was spotted talking to someone from New York, well-informed sources say Mike Cubbage is not in line to replace Bobby “mea culpa” Ross.
