Monrovia : Apartment, Condo Recycling
A recycling program for apartments and condominium complexes has been approved by the City Council.
Although Monrovia’s single-family homes have participated in a curbside recycling program since 1989, the city’s 438 multifamily residences have not been included. The recycling program, to be implemented by Newco, the city’s refuse contractor, is scheduled to begin Nov. 2.
At a hearing on the plan Tuesday, residents pointed out that they are concerned about widespread scavenging problems when they put recyclable cans, bottles and other waste out on the curb.
