Caterpillar Hit With NLRB Complaint: Caterpillar Inc. has been served with an unfair labor practices complaint by the National Labor Relations Board, the United Auto Workers union said. The formal complaint, issued in Baltimore, names seven instances of unfair labor practices, including several against UAW member Kenneth Myers of York, Pa., the union said. A hearing will be scheduled before an NLRB administrative law judge. Myers was fired April 9 for wearing a T-shirt saying “Permanently Replace Fites,” a reference to Caterpillar Chairman Donald Fites, the UAW said. The firing was rescinded the same day, and Myers returned to his job at the York plant. But the NLRB charge says Caterpillar then committed additional unfair labor practices against Myers.
