Kinko’s Service Corp., Ventura-based parent of the Kinko Copy Centers chain, has opened its first European store in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and is considering opening stores in Spain, Portugal and Australia.
The opening of the Rotterdam unit is part of an overseas expansion that began earlier this year with two new Kinko’s units in Nagoya, Japan. “We’re committed to continuing the expansion, though it may be slowed by international economic conditions,” said Adrianna Foss, vice president of operations.
The Rotterdam store will offer oversized document faxing in addition to the usual Kinko’s services, Foss said.
The are 620 Kinko’s centers, mainly in the United States and Canada. The units are owned by privately held partnerships in which the parent company owns an interest.
