LOS ANGELES : LaBonge Announces Plan to Run for Woo’s Seat
Long-time Los Angeles City Council aide Tom LaBonge has announced his candidacy for the 13th Council District seat being vacated by Councilman Michael Woo, who is running for mayor.
LaBonge serves as chief field deputy to City Council President John Ferraro. Before that, he was an aide to then-Councilwoman Peggy Stevenson.
The 38-year-old Atwater Village resident, who was endorsed by Ferraro, joins seven others who have declared their intent to raise funds for the race.
