VENTURA : Environmental Honors Awarded

Ventura Mayor Greg Carson presented environmental awards in two categories Thursday on behalf of the Rotary Club of Ventura-East.

Patagonia Inc. won in the business category and Jeannette Scovill, R.N., won in the educator category. Carson said the awards recognized contributions made to “preserve the natural resources of Ventura.”

“These are both a business and an individual who, through their business and career, have been helping to promote and create a better environment,” Carson said in an interview.

Runners-up in the business category were Buenaventura Mall, Diversified Minerals Inc., Fugro-McClelland (West) Inc., and Jennifer Knudson and Associates. Runners-up in the educator category were Sheila Rost Hooper and Kim Loucks.
