The Pleasant Valley pool in Camarillo, which has been closed since the end of August, will reopen to the public Monday.

Officials will celebrate the pool’s refurbishment with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The 57-by-75-foot indoor pool, operated by the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District, was opened in 1969. Renovations were made to the pool’s main entry, dressing rooms, showers and restroom facilities at a cost $298,851, and were paid for with district taxes, said Caroline Paras, a district spokeswoman.

“With our renovations, it will make our indoor pool one of the most modern in California,” Paras said.

As part of today’s celebration, aquatic instructors and pool staff will stage water aerobics, lifeguard drills, scuba demonstrations and swim classes. On Monday, park district officials will launch a fall program that will include recreational swimming on weekends, water aerobics and scuba.

The pool charge for district residents is $2.50 for adults and $1.25 for youths. There is no charge for children under the age of 6 if they are accompanied by an adult. Fees are slightly higher for non-district residents. For information call 482-1996.
