An eight-person jury in Washington began deliberations in a $10-million lawsuit against the NFL filed by former practice players claiming they were victims of an unjust wage system.
The two-week-old trial in U.S. District Court centers on whether the 235 players in the class-action suit suffered financial injury when the NFL in 1989 fixed wages at $1,000 a week for members of developmental squads. A decision is not expected before Monday.
