Pro-Choice Tag Sparks Reactions
I want to thank Kimber Jerrils for nudging me off the fence. I have decided to display a bumper sticker proclaiming my stand as pro-choice, pro-child and pro-family. It’s frightening to think that these men felt a need to intimidate and harass a woman due to her political opinions.
Isn’t it ironic that these uniformed men, who are sworn to protect and serve the people and the Constitution of this country, will harass those who exercise their right to free speech under the First Amendment? Isn’t it ironic that these uniformed men who are armed and trained to kill claim to speak for a “Right to Life”?
The brownshirt tactics of the far right are frightening. I can understand Kimber’s reaction, but I must take a stand. If we back down from stating our opinions due to a fear of intimidation, we stand to lose far more than reproductive rights. Our right to free speech is being threatened by those sworn to protect it.
