Trash Scavengers

Share

Lids off to the Seal Beach bottle scavengers (“Trash Scavengers Feeling the Heat,” Sept. 23)! They are doing everybody a favor--it’s called recycling.

If Mayor (Gwen) Forsythe and other Seal Beach residents see their trash as private property, they should bury it in their own back yards instead of filling up public dumps with reusable garbage resources.

In the scavenger’s words, they try to be as neat and quiet as possible. As they go about trying to make a living (because we’ve exported millions of jobs), they’re benefiting the environment for us all.

If the Seal Beach residents want to do something about the so-called scavengers, they might start by separating their own bottles and glass and setting them aside for the recycling scavengers to pick up.

In due order, perhaps an occasional thank you note might be attached.
