Nigel Benn of Britain won the World Boxing Council super-middleweight title when defending champion Mauro Galvano, severely cut below his left eye, could not answer the bell of the fourth round at Marino, Italy.
Benn improved to 32-2 with 29 knockouts. Galvano dropped to 21-2-2.
