Santa Monica, Robert Myers and the Homeless
- Share via
The Times quotes Bob Myers, former city attorney of Santa Monica, as accusing “Santa Monica leaders” of depriving the homeless of their “dignity.” Apparently, he would preserve their “dignity” by allowing them to lie around in public parks, defecating and urinating wherever they choose, and, not infrequently, becoming perpetrators and victims of violent crime.
Manifestly, Mr. Myers can hold any opinion as a private citizen-- but not as the city attorney. Fortunately, he can now grab his $82,000 “golden parachute”--marvelous compensation for arrogantly refusing to accept the directions of his client--and take some of the homeless into his own residence.
