IBM, Compaq, H-P Unveil New PC Products: International Business Machines Corp. and Compaq Computer Corp. announced a spate of new products aimed at corporate customers and mobile users. IBM rolled out a family of Thinkpad notebook PCs, featuring bigger screens and an alternative to mouse and trackball control devices. Two of the Thinkpad models feature a keyboard with a rubber stick in the center about the size of a pencil eraser that is used like a joystick. Houston-based Compaq introduced two families of PC servers--used to operate whole networks of PCs--billing one of the models as the fastest yet available. Hewlett-Packard Co. introduced two updated versions of its inkjet printers and a new portable printer, and lowered the prices on two existing models.
