TIJUANA : Emergency Water Going to Mexico

Share

San Diego pipelines will deliver emergency water to Tijuana for four days beginning Wednesday, officials said Monday.

The service should avert a water shortage while crews build a pipe parallel to the existing line that delivers Colorado River water to Tijuana, San Diego County Water Authority officials said.

Lester A. Snow, general manager of the water board, said in a statement Monday that he hoped the four-day delivery would help build a “strong, mutually beneficial relationship with Mexico.” The board said Mexican officials will pay for the water.
