Lohr, Ross Lead in Las Vegas Tournament
Bob Lohr shot a seven-under-par 65 Wednesday for a share of the first-round lead with John Ross in the Las Vegas Invitational golf tournament.
Ross has not finished higher than 16th in his rookie season on the PGA Tour. He ranks 152nd on the money list and needs to improve 27 places to avoid having to qualify to play in 1993.
Their one-shot lead was downplayed by others.
“In my mind, in a tournament like this, having the first-round lead, the second-round lead, the third-round lead, means nothing at all,” said Tom Lehman, one of six tied at 66 in this traditionally low-scoring 90-hole event.
