ANNEXATION: Approved annexation to Culver City of 8.64 acres of vacant, hilly land at 6100-6180 Jefferson Blvd. in the Baldwin Hills area.

FIRE STATION SALE: Approved the sale of a former city fire station at 158 S. Western Ave. in the Wilshire area. A minimum bid of $710,000 was established for the two-story, 1912 masonry structure.

LITTLE COUNTRY CHURCH: Approved including the Little Country Church of Hollywood, at 1750 N. Argyle Ave., in the list of Historic-Cultural Monuments. The wood frame American Classical Revival church was designed by architect Paul Kingsbury and built by members of the congregation in 1934.

THE FAMILY: Venice sculptor Charna Rickey was honored by Councilwoman Ruth Galanter with a certificate of commendation for her five-foot-high bronze sculpture “The Family,” which depicts a mother, father and two children. The sculpture is on display in the central shopping district of Nagoya, Japan, Los Angeles’ sister city.

WALK OF FAME: Failed to take final action on adding H. Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. posthumously to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A Hollywood Chamber of Commerce spokeswoman said the event was postponed because a family member was unavailable to attend a scheduled ceremony. Schwarzkopf was the father of Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, commander of Operation Desert Storm. The senior Schwarzkopf was host of the popular old radio show “Gangbusters.”

HOW THEY VOTED

How Westside representatives voted on selected issues.

POLICE COMPUTERS: Approved an ordinance extending to Jan. 1, 1996, the $8-million contract with PRC Public Management Services Inc., which is upgrading the Police Department’s Emergency Command Control Communications System computers. Passed: 12-0.

VOTING YES: John Ferraro, Ruth Galanter, Nate Holden, Mark Ridley-Thomas and Zev Yaroslavsky. Marvin Braude and Michael Woo were absent.

TRAFFIC CONTROL FEES: Approved an ordinance that allows the city to charge fees for traffic services for commercial events that draw more than 3,000 people. eventsPassed: 12-1.

VOTING YES: Ferraro, Galanter, Ridley-Thomas and Yaroslavsky. Holden voted no. Braude and Woo were absent.

DASH: Approved a six-month contract extension at an estimated cost of $1,372,690 for ATE Management and Service Co. Inc., which operates the Dash Downtown and Westwood Shuttle bus service. Passed: 11-0.

VOTING YES: Ferraro, Holden, Ridley-Thomas and Yaroslavsky. Braude, Galanter and Woo were absent.

COMING UP AT CITY COUNCIL

REDISTRICTING: On Friday, the council is expected to give final approval to the redistricting plan for the 15 council districts and seven Los Angeles Unified School District boundaries.
