A Women for Sobriety meeting will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the California Women's Commission on Alcohol and Drug Dependencies office, 14622 Victory Blvd., Suite 100, Van Nuys. There is no fee for the meeting, but donations will be accepted.
Women for Sobriety is a self-help support group designed for women based on the "13 Statements of Self-Esteem" developed by Jean Kirkpatrick. The afternoon offers an overview of the program and an opportunity to share with other women in recovery from alcohol problems. All interested women may attend.
The commission is a nonprofit corporation funded in part by the county Office of Alcohol Programs and by the state Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
